Studi: Mayoritas Percaya Perubahan Iklim Hanya Berdampak pada Orang Lain

KOMPAS.com – Studi yang dilakukan oleh para peneliti di Universitas Gothenburg di Swedia menunjukkan orang-orang cenderung menilai risiko diri mereka lebih rendah terkena dampak perubahan iklim dibandingkan risiko yang dihadapi orang lain.

Persepsi ini dapat mengurangi kesediaan individu untuk bertindak dan memperlambat langkah-langkah penanganan iklim yang diperlukan.

Studi yang dipublikasikan di Nature Sustainability ini melakukan meta analisis dari 83 studi yang melibatkan lebih dari 70.000 peserta dari 17 negara. Melansir Phys, Jumat (9/1/2026) hasil studi kemudian menunjukkan bahwa risiko terkait iklim secara sistematis diremehkan dan dianggap lebih mungkin memengaruhi orang lain daripada diri sendiri.

Sebanyak 65 peserta menilai risiko mereka sendiri terkena dampak perubahan iklim lebih rendah daripada risiko orang lain.

“Studi yang telah kami kumpulkan tidak mengukur risiko aktual orang. Kami tidak dapat menentukan apakah penilaian risiko individu terlalu optimis, tetapi pada tingkat kelompok, kami jelas melihat bahwa mayoritas menganggap risiko mereka sendiri lebih rendah daripada orang lain,” kata Magnus Bergquist, Dosen Senior Psikologi di Universitas Gothenburg.

Pertanyaan utama dalam penelitian ini juga berkaitan dengan siapa perbandingan tersebut dilakukan.
